Northgate Park Tree Planting Saturday March 15th

 


Volunteers will clear pre-dug holes with shovels, plant and stake the trees and add mulch around the freshly planted trees. The volunteers can name the tree or trees they have just planted.


Volunteers should bring a pair of work gloves, wear close toed shoes and dress for the weather in clothes they do not mind getting dirty.

Shovels and other equipment used to plant the trees are provided by the City of Sacramento's Youth, Parks, and Community Enrichment (YPCE) Department.

Trees and stakes are provided through a partnership with SMUD and the Sacramento Tree Foundation.

This event is free to attend. No experience in planting trees is necessary, we will teach you proper planting techniques in a fun and informative demonstration.

American River Parkway Clean-up Tiscornia Park and Township 9 Area - Nov 16th

Please arrive by 8:50am to sign in and receive a safety briefing. Volunteers will head out to clean by 9:10am. This  clean-up is all ages ARPF provides trash bags, gloves, water, and a light snack.    Where to meet:  Meet in the parking lot and together you will walk into the Parkway. What to wear:  sturdy/comfortable closed-toe shoes, hat, long pants, long-sleeves, gloves, sunscreen, & bug spray. What to bring:  Water! Take breaks & learn the signs of heat exhaustion.
