This camp is for INTERMEDIATE Riders*: Riders who have some experience who are looking to ride with more speed and better flow on rougher trails, or want to try more advanced skills like roll-downs, small drops, tabletops, berms, & other features found on blue and black trails. Typically these riders hit the trails at least once a week and can manage pedaling uphill, riding small obstacles and are eager to learn more. *Exceptions can be made if the rider is experienced on a bike.   Volunteers will clear pre-dug holes with shovels, plant and stake the trees and add mulch around the freshly planted trees. The volunteers can name the tree or trees they have just planted. Volunteers should bring a pair of work gloves, wear close toed shoes and dress for the weather in clothes they do not mind getting dirty. Shovels and other equipment used to plant the trees are provided by the City of Sacramento's Youth, Parks, and Community Enrichment (YPCE) Department. Trees and stakes are provided through a partnership with SMUD and the Sacramento Tree Foundation. This event is free to attend. No experience in planting trees is necessary, we will teach you proper planting techniques in a fun and informative demonstration. All are welcome! Note that the female has chosen not to leave the area for the past two years. Eggs are laid approximately mid-February. Hatch happens approximately mid-March. Fledge happens early to mid-June. Fledglings leave the area sometime in July.
