Oak Park Gateway Native Plant Garden Sunday March 2nd

The Oak Park Neighborhood Association manages a CalTrans lot as a native plant garden. We need to liberate all the native wildflowers from non-native grasses and would appreciate your help. 2022 34th St, Sacramento CA Sunday March 2nd 8:30am-11am It's time for another work day: meet your neighbors and help make the Native Plant Garden ready to bloom more magnificently than ever! Last time we made pathways that make it easier for visitors to enjoy and explore the garden: come check them out! We'll also be weeding. Come late, leave early, or spend the whole time with us.

McKinley Park Trash Dash Sunday Feb 16th

McKinley Park Trash Dash Sunday February 16th 10am-noon 630 Alhambra Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95816 On February 16th we will be out with our friends from City Parks and will be bringing coffee and donuts to power us through our efforts, and pizza afterwards. This is our quarterly “BIG” pick up event made possible by a grant through the city. We have some awesome college students volunteering for this event, and it will be fun. We timed it right as our park will be peeking out from the winter doldrums and may even have a few flowers welcoming us. Let’s get out to make our park shiny and make sure visitors see a beautiful and thriving community here in Midtown and East Sac. We'll be out there, RAIN OR SHINE.

Announcing new dates for the Nuclear Science Workshop on  4/15 ,  6/12 , and  7/24 . Please feel free to forward this email to other scouts/units. This year these opportunities are open to  both Scouts BSA and the Girl Scouts .  As you may be already aware, slots are in very high demand and units have previously traveled from as far south as Bakersfield, and north from Mt Shasta, just for this one day event. To be fair to all scouts wishing to participate, the slots for the workshops will be released on  Friday 2/7/25 at 6pm Pacific Time . If you signed up for the 2025 waitlist previously advertised, the purpose of that waitlist was to gather email addresses for this announcement.  You will need to signup again.  Why is this workshop so in demand? It's commonly called a "unicorn" Merit Badge, since one of the optional requirements includes visiting a nuclear reactor. Unfortunately there aren't many left in oper...
